Although Colfax dodged the snow bullet Friday, Nov. 15, other areas of the county received some white stuff.
Forecasters issued winter storm warnings for the area, but the temperatures were warm enough for a rain and snow mix in Colfax.
David Jones, Natural Resources Conservation Service Soil Conservationist based in Colfax, said as he left work Friday afternoon about 4:30 p.m., rain was mixed with snow. However, by the time he reached the top of Buck Canyon Hill heading north, it was all snow.
Jones said it snowed all the way to his home in Garfield. He estimated that Garfield received about two inches of the white stuff.
Art Schultheis said the Colton area also received a couple of inches of snow. He said it began about 6:30 p.m. on Friday and was still coming down at 9 p.m.
