Chadwick crowned Colton queen

Savannah Chadwick, daughter of Tony and Amy Chadwick, was named 2015 Distinguished Young Woman of Colton-Uniontown.

Savannah received a $750 scholarship to the college or university of her choice and will represent the community at the state program in August.

First Alternate was Courtney Hoyle, daughter of Eric and Connie Hoyle, with a $400 scholarship, and second alternate was Winnie Schultheis, daughter of Bernie and Kelly Schultheis, with a $200 scholarship.

Winnie was also the recipient of the “Spirit Award,” a $150 scholarship that is voted on by the girls.

Emcee and Colton DYW awardee, Mikayla Nygreen hosted the evening.

Veterans helped to escort the girls onto stage during the opening number.

Other contestants were Courtney Kimberling, daughter of Robert and Jamie Kimberling; Haley Meyer, daughter of Tom and Heather Meyer; Anna Willis, daughter of Mark and Charla Willis; Kamryn Nuttman, daughter of Tony and Jodi Nuttman; Carrie Hennigar, daughter of Thayne and Cindy Tippett.
