8th gift gala
The eighth annual Holiday Gift Gala at the Dahmen Barn will be Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sixteen visiting artists will join the 22 resident artists to offer unique handmade gift items for men, women and children. Visitors will enjoy an expanded gift shop where custom gift baskets may be ordered and soup, bread and sweets from recipes in the “Artisans’ Cookbook.”
This year visiting artists are offering hand printed photographs, baby quilts, winter accessory items, wooden pens, toys, birdhouses, handmade jewelry, soaps and candles, custom fishing rods and holiday home decor in several styles.
The gift shop represents more than 120 regional artists and fine crafts people and also carries specialty food products made on the Palouse plus books and videos.
A six-foot grandmother clock will be the prize at the raffle drawing which will be at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 each or $20 for five. The winner is not required to be present.
Dahmen Barn will have expanded holiday hours every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Dec. 5 through 23. They will close at 3 p.m. on Dec. 24.
Public talk on sleep
Dr. Leslie Robison, Clinical Health Psychologist for Pullman Regional Hospital’s Summit Therapy & Health Services, will speak on “Tips for Getting a Good Night’s Sleep” at a Pullman Regional Hospital’s conference rooms C/D next Thursday, Dec. 5, at noon.
Audition call
for ‘Miserables’
Regional Theater of the Palouse will conduct auditions for Les Miserables Dec. 3-5 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at 122 N. Grand in Pullman. For the audition performers are asked to prepare a song in the style of the show and bring sheet music in the key they will sing. An accompanist will be provided.
Those auditioning for principle roles should be prepared to attend call backs on Dec. 6.
There is a need for males to sing some of the ensemble music. The show will run April 3-13.

Reilly, Maggie Rose, born Nov. 12 at seven pounds, two ounces, to Brandon and Jessica Reilly of Colton. Paternal grandparents are Creta Reilly and Joe Saxton of Uniontown. Maternal grandparent is Debi Morrison of Phoenix, Ariz. The baby joins sister Lilly, 3, and brother Connor, 5.
Walden, Piper Noelle, was born Nov. 14 at six pounds to Ben and Johna Walden of Moscow. Paternal grandparents are Jim and Theresa Walden of Juneau, Alaska. Maternal grandparents are John and Peg Kitt of DeSmet, Idaho. The baby joins a brother, Jaiden, 3.
Roberts, Charles Alan, was born Nov. 15 at eight pounds, three ounces, to Chris and Amanda Roberts of Moscow. Paternal grandparents are Dave and Cathy Roberts of Boise and Sean and Kim Pitkin of Moscow, Idaho. Maternal grandparents are Carla and Charley Jasper of Moscow.
