Colton ‘Christkindlmarkt’ to bring Old World tradition

A tradition from the old world is coming to Colton for Christmas.

The first annual “Christkindlmarkt” will take place Dec. 15, put on by the new Colton Community Association.

It will bring a traditional German open-air event to town, beginning with a procession of carolers and concluding with a tree lighting, snacks and refreshments.

“I got this inspiration one morning trying to think of a way to add a little more glow, a little more festivity to Christmas here in Colton,” said Sunni Freyer, a volunteer with the association.
