Railroad cars depart dormant zone

An engine crew on Nov. 26 hooked up this line of freight cars which had been left on the tracks along the S. Palouse River channel in Colfax. The Golden West Service boxcars had been left on the rail line for several weeks. Presence of the freight cars along the channel was the first railroad activity on that section of the line in years. The line had been staked with a ‘stop’ marker at the Wall Street crossing.
