Yule service at Garfield

The traditional Christmas Eve candlelight service at Garfield United Methodist Church will begin at 4 p.m. Special pianist will be Danielle Jones Wilson. Singers will be Sue Redmond, Denise Jennings, Todd Scranton and Richard Miller. Refreshments will follow the service.

Whitman Hospital Auxiliary

The Whitman Hospital Auxiliary held its annual Christmas luncheon on Monday, Dec. 2, at the Methodist Church.

The luncheon was prepared by the Methodist women.

A gift exchange was held and a group picture was taken.

A drawing was held for a decorated Christmas tree, Friday, Dec. 13.

Diane Smith won.

There was also a drawing for an angel for people donating to the memorial tree.

Arlene Grimes was the winner.

The angel memorial tree is still on display in the waiting room of the hospital for anyone wishing to remember a loved one or honor someone.

Donations are accepted and their name is placed on an angel on the tree.

They are available in The Bluebird Gift Shop.

The next meeting will be on Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, at 1:30 p.m.

Chapter AF met at the home of Robyn Johnson, Dec. 9 for their annual Christmas social and gift exchange with 17 members and two guests present. The yearbook committee provided a light salad luncheon.

Next scheduled meeting will be Jan. 27 with Karen Groom as hostess. Connie McBride will provide a program on Founders’ Day.
