Dusty residents celebrate Christmas

Mark and Kathy Vogler had a great Christmas with their children, Cari and Henry Vogler and Anna, Chad and Iris Assareh home for the holiday. They all went sledding in the pasture the one day there was snow. Iris had her first toboggan ride. She was unimpressed, but a good sport.

Christmas was celebrated on Saturday at the Art and Colene Sager household. Overnight guests Friday and Saturday were Don and Gaylene Manning, Sarah, Luke and Hannah from Valleyford; Kyle and Ann Sager from Spokane, and Colene’s brother Bob Records from Newberg, Ore. Joining them on Saturday were Blake and Marcy Sager, Jullene and Kenneth and Othelo and Julie Quilang, all of Colfax.

Brian and Angela Broeckel and Graham, Dusty, and Alex and Sami BeDell, Walla Walla, spent Christmas in Mountain Home, Idaho, with Angela’s parents, Guenter and Brigitte Scherwinski, and her sister’s family, Anita and Bryan Straw and Chealsey and Corey.

Arriving at the home of their father, Oscar Broeckel, Christmas Eve, were Tony and Denise Kendall, Tacoma, and Tom and Doreen Riedner, Genesee.

Larry and Di Brink went to Kennewick a week ago Sunday to watch the church Christmas program where their grandchildren, Ashley, Kloey and Ellie Brink performed.

Their son Tom Phillips, who had flown to the Tri-cities from his home in Las Vegas, came back to Dusty with them.

Monday, everyone gathered at the the Brink household: Tom Phillips, Las Vegas: Kevin, Amber, Ashley, Kloey, Ellie and Nick Brink, Tri-cities; and John, Brandi and Myla Brink, Pullman.

Christmas dinner also included Lucky and Joan Myrick, Dusty; and Mike Stine and Don and Carol Keeney, LaCrosse.

They all attended Christmas Eve services at Selbu Lutheran Church.

Larry and Di took Tom to the airport to fly home Christmas Day.

Linda Hennigar attended Christmas Eve services at Selbu Lutheran Church and afterward drove to her daughter’s home in Kennewick, Jay, Tami and Wesley Banks, to spend Christmas. She returned home the following Saturday night.

Steve and Carol Moore and children spent Christmas Day with Steve’s father, Don Moore in Colfax. Saturday, they were with Carol’s family, Vern and Arlene Stambaugh, at Hayden Lake.

Kim and Cindy Pitts were in Boise, Idaho, to spend Christmas with their children, Jen and Ryan Hammons and Kellen, Becket and Willa. They were joined by Amanda and Erik Carlson and Tate and Rafe, Spokane; and Carrie Pitts, Yakima. They spent a week in Boise.

David and Phyllis Stueckle were in Portland December 19 to attend the Christmas concert at Cleveland High School in which their grandchildren Emmaly and Joshua Light performed. Christmas Eve the Stueckles attended services at Selbu Lutheran Church. Christmas Day they enjoyed dinner in Moscow.
