The Whitman County library district rate request on the Feb. 11 ballot would mean an increase of 7.08 cents per $1,000 of assessed valuaton. Last week’s Gazette rundown of election requests on the ballot incorrectly reported that the proposal seeks an increase of 50 cents.
The library is asking voters in the district to approve a return of the tax levy rate to the limit of 50 cents per $1,000 of assessed valuaton.
