Electro Squids win robot regional

Colfax Electro Squids won the champions award and the robot performance award in a sweep of the Spokane regional Lego League competition last Saturday at Lewis & Clark High School in Spokane. They were among 41 teams from the area in the competition. The day-long event included a judging session on design, project and values and three matches of robot games. Theme for the games was Nature’s Fury.

The team will now compete in the state semi-final round in Moses Lake Feb. 15.

Members of the team are Johnny Szwast, Dylan Nails, Hayden Fulfs, Connor Johnson and Kierstyn York. Coach is Helena Johnson.

The Electro Squids competed in the 9-16 age bracket. A Whitman County 4H team is also gearing up for 4H robotics competition in March.
