SE girls stay in mode; two games left

Last two rounds of the SE 1B race will go down this week with the teams locked in the mode set fore the league race early in the season. Colton continues as the dominatior with a 14-0 mark after adding two more crunches in the campaign last weekend.

The Wildcats Friday at Touchet pegged a 85-40 road win, and Saturday hammered Garfield/Palouse 69-11.

Zoe Moser led the Wildcats with 27 at Touchet and Jenna Moser hit 26 against the Vikings.

Closest battle in the league went down Friday at St. John when second-place Tekoa/Oakesdale escaped with a 49-43 win. That left the Nighthawks, who hammered Liberty Christian 62-21 in the Saturday round, still in second place with their lone league losses to Colton.

Friday at St. John, the `hawks posted a huge 24-7 lead in the first quarter, played two close quarters and then held on while the Eagles charged for 18 points in the last frame.

Mattie Jo Johnson led the `hawks with 27 at St. John, and SJE ‘s Enily Jones hitr 14.

St. John bounced back in the Saturday round with a 36-24 win at St. John led by 11 points from Gracie Dickerson.

Fourth-place Pomeroy, which will get the last shot at derailing Colton when they host the Wildcats Saturday, kept pace with two two more wins last weekend, 56-13 over LWK on the Pirates’ court and 57-48 in a tougher battle at Touchet.

Rosalia finished the weekend with a split after a win over the GP Vikings on the home court Friday night with Mackenzie Reddish hitting 22 points.
