Whitman County commissioners Tuesday said they were grateful for what now looks like voters’ approval of the 22-cent levy lid lift measure in the Feb. 11 election. The measure after counting additional ballots Friday gained a few more ticks on the required 50 percent approval rate with most of the big support in Pullman precincts.
“I thank the people for passing it, but I’m aware of how close it was, and we will be careful how we spend the money,” said Commissioner Art Swannack. “We will not go for another levy lift, not in the next three years.”
