The Student of Character assembly for January’s trait of respect through kindness was Feb. 12 in the Pit. It opened with the four K-12 teams playing a game similar in format to the Newlywed Game with LaCrosse school trivia questions. The Black Widows matched four questions to win.
Five mile and 10 mile winners from elementary P.E. class were Grace Morris, 5; Quincy Morris, Ellie Pierson, Avery Fleming, Landen Miller, Julia Guske, McKenzie Stanley, Tanner Fleming, Austin Stanley, Abree Aune, Wyatt Schwartz, Nick Webb and Kaelea Reeves, 10.
Mashayla Miller won the attitude and effort award for her positive attitude and effort toward her schoolwork.
Zoe Bailey and Lauren Stubbs received the most respectful/kind students for January.

The elementary students received their tokens for self-control Friday morning. The fifth graders orally read “Whoever You Are” by Mem Fox. The character trait of tolerance is the February emphasis.
DARE graduation for the fifth and sixth graders was January 30. Officer Guidice and Sheriff Brett Myers were present. Gunnar Aune and Ty Harder read their DARE information papers. The fifth and sixth graders presented a play in 11 parts. One student wrote each part which shared information from the DARE booklet students had completed. The final act of the play was all students singing “Smart Ways to Live.”
