Unsolicited advice for IOC

Here are a few observations by a guy watching the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics so far.

One of the additions this year is the slopestyle events in snowboarding and skiing. The U.S. did exceptionally well in both, including a sweep of the medals for the men in skiing.

While that was great news, it unintentionally highlighted a curious move by the International Olympic Committee.

Slopestyle is another addition to the snowboard and style-based skiing events, which have been added in the recent era – snowboarding in 1998, then moguls and boardercross, now slopestyle.
