Dusty dog story ends at shelter

Dusty

Last week, Daniel and LaRena Draper almost ran over a dog on Highway 26. They picked him up to prevent him from being hit and tried to find his owner. He was a well-behaved hound type dog but due to allergies, they couldn’t keep him. Darrel Claassen took him on a show-and–hopefully–claim tour of Dusty but no one knew where he belonged. The Claassens finally took him to Pullman to a rescue center. This information is for the many who have wondered about the outcome of the search.

Word has been received of the passing of Errol Schmidt (1944-2014). Schmidt lived near Dusty for a short time when his father, Rev. Edward Schmidt, was minister at St. John’s Congregational Church (now the Country Bible Church) during the 1950s. Schmidt is survived by his wife, three children, seven grandchildren and his father. He was preceded in death by his mother Emma Schmidt and brother Elroy.
