Palouse will adjust budget

The Palouse levy lid lift question which went to voters last November originally was announced as having failed by Palouse Mayor Michael Echanove.

At the Feb. 25 city council meeting, however, he reported that it had been a misunderstanding about how much of a margin was required for it to pass.

The measure needed just a 50 percent majority as opposed to the 60 percent required for special levy proposals.

“It was just a misunderstanding,” said Echanove. “All things worked out fine.”
