Community Pride meeting tonight

Residents of LaCrosse are invited to attend the LaCrosse Community Pride community follow-up meeting tonight, Thursday, March 20, at 7 p.m. in the Gathering Place at the market.

The Student of Character assembly for February’s trait of tolerance was March 14 in the pit. It opened with the K-12 teams trying to make it through a jump rope without being tagged by the rope. The Incredibles won.

LaCrosse fifth through eighth graders participated in the Whitman County Speech, Spelling, and Math contest at Oakesdale last Tuesday, March 11. Competing were Ty Harder and Austin Jones, fifth grade math; Dustin Broeckel and Gen McGregor, fifth grader interpretive; Zoe Bailey, fifth grade impromptu; Katy McKay-fifth grade spelling; Gunnar Aune, sixth grade math; Matea Enzweiler, sixth grade interpretive, Trey Fleming, sixth grade impromptu; Lauren Stubbs, sixth grade spelling; Blake Jones, seventh grade math; Autumn Meyers, seventh grader impromptu, and Logan Stanely, seventh grade interpretive; Jadyn Guske, eighth grade impromptu, and Braden Miller, eighth grade spelling.

All the students who competed in the Whitman County Speech, Spelling and Math contest receive an “Atta’ Way”. Then the fifth graders modeled their Book Bash T-Shirts which say Reading Makes You Happy Happy Happy! All the students who participated received an “Atta’ Way”.

The entire Mac II Classroom and Cole Evans received the most tolerant students award.

National Honor Society students are sponsoring the American Heart Association Jump Rope for Heart collection. Students will be collecting donations until March 28. Students will jump on March 26.

A Farmers’ Festival organizational meeting will be April 16 at 7 p.m. in the Gathering Palce.
