DARL PROUTY
Darl D. Prouty, 84, a member of the class 1948 of Colfax High School and former Colfax dairy man, died April 2, 2014, from a brain tumor. A memorial service will be Saturday, April 12, at 2 p.m at the Morning Star Boys Ranch, 4511 S. Glenrose in Spokane. Mr. Prouty served as a director of the Boys Ranch for eight years.
Born May 28, 1929, at Lynden to Wallace and Dorothy Prouty, he moved to Colfax with his family and they operated Colfax Dairy Products.
He attended Colfax schools and married June Anderson who was a 1949 Colfax High graduate.
They were married May 28, 1950.
He served in the Army National Guard from 1948 until 1955.
They moved from Colfax to Spokane in 1963 and he became owner and operator of Precision Propeller.
Mr. Prouty also enjoyed boating and was a member of the Spokane Yacht Club and Maverick Yacht Club.
He was also a long time member of Rotary.
His first wife died in 1994 and he married Linda Huntley in 2000.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Sharon (Paul) Prouty-Hall, and son, Darren (Carolyn) Prouty, two step-children, six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Morning Star Boys Ranch.
