Colfax girls rolled up 144 points Tuesday to dominate an eight-team meet at the brand new track at Ritzville. The hosts finished second with 109 points on the girls side.
Northwest Christian won the boys side with 114 points with Readan 20 points back at 94 for second place. Colfax boys finsihed fourth with 84.
Colfax sophomore ScoutCai led the charge for the Colfax girtls with four wins for 40 points.
Cai won the 200 at 27.96, and the 400 at 1:02.89. She topped the high jump at 5-2 and the pole vault at 9-0.
Nicole Sheer took a win in the shot put with a 31-6.25.
Parker Warwick and Bailey Mackleit posted a 1-2 finish for Colfax in the 100 hurdles. Warwick clocked 17.78, and Mackleit clocked 17.92.
Colfax girls also pegged wins in both sprint relays. Mackleit, Warwick, Alexie Smith and Olivia Mellor booked a 53.17 in the 4 X 100, and Taylor Larson, Mackleit, Warwick and Sarah Kraut booked a 1:52.21 in the 4 X 200.
Mellor placed second in the triple jump with a 31-9.5
For the Colfax boys Josh Brown and Sam Dailey booked the lone wins. Brown had a 138-8 sling to win the discus. Brown also hit fourth in the shot put at 40-5.25.
Dailey cleared 11-0 for a win in the pole vault.
Austin Corean placed third in the 100 and fourth in the 400.
The 4 X 100 relay team of Bo Claassen, Corean, Dylan Hall and Cody Fulfs placed second at 46.15 behind the 46.04 win by LRS.
Fulfs placed third in the long jump with a 17-3.25
Twelve members of the Colfax track team have qualified for the Pasco Invitational Saturday. Tracksters qualify for the prestigious event by meeting standards for times and distances in each event. Coach Jason Cooper noted this year’s entry of 12 Bulldogs is the largest entry he’s ever sent to Pasco, which has been billed as the largest track meet in the United States.
The qualifiers include Corean in the 200 and 400, Dailey in the pole vault, Brown in the discus, Sheer in the shot and discus, Mackleit in the 100 and 300 hurdles and Scout Cai in the high jump. Cai placed fifth in the event at Pasco last year.
Both Colfax 4 X 100 relay teams also qualified. They include Mackleit, Parker Warwick, Smith and Mellor for the girls relay, and Corean, Fulfs, Claassen and Hall for the boys.
