The Oakesdale School District’s $7.1 million construction bond proposal failed to get even 50 percent approval in Tuesday’s special election. The unofficial count at the elections office as of Tuesday evening tallied 206 yes votes for 49 percent and 215 no votes for 51percent. The bond required a 60 percent majority to pass.
The ballot count follows the failure of a previous school construction bond in February, although the approval rate in that vote was just over 54 percent with 221 votes in favor and 188 opposed.
