Eight CHS students

Five Colfax High School students who competed at the FBLA state events in Seattle April 16-19 were Nick Johnson, Kurt Moore, Rebecca Hanny, Katherine Woodhouse and Ysabeaux Ng.

Ysabeaux and Katherine placed first in their state event which was a 30-second Public Service Announcement video promoting kids to eat right and exercise. Rebecca Hanny placed fifth in accounting I and fifth in accounting II. The top three winners of each event compete at Nationals in Nashville June 27-July 3.

Colfax High’s FBLA chapter is four years old and has had students make it to the state competition each year. This was Nick Johnson and Kurt Moore’s fourth year competing at state in the Global Business event. FBLA stands for Future Business Leaders of America and is a national student organization.
