The Garfield-Palouse/Tekoa-Oakesdale softball team played at Asotin April 19 for a doubleheader and lost twice, 9-0 and 13-3.
All told, they struck out 20 times in 12 innings.
“We didn’t hit. We didn’t play well. So we lost two games,” said Gar-Pal/T.O. coach Steve Witthuhn.
On the plus side, Alexa Lingren scored two runs and led in the batter’s box while McKenzie Mclanahan hit a home run in the second game.
“Asotin, they played better, their pitching was better. That’s just what happens,” said Witthuhn.
The Vikings (4-3, 2-2 in league) are set to play next on Friday in a doubleheader vs. DeSales at home in Garfield. A doubleheader vs. Liberty on Tuesday was rained out.
“We have our work cut out for us,” said Witthuhn. “Gotta win some games.”
