LHS grads of ‘79 refurbish big L

Dusty

This past weekend was the 16th annual reunion of the women of the LaCrosse High class of 1979 at The Parsonage Bed and Breakfast.

Paula Morris Meyer, Pullman; Kristal Krom Kirpes, Colton; Sheri Shaffer Hatley, Oakesdale; Doreen Broeckel Riedner, Genesee, and Denise Broeckel Kendall, Tacoma, had a project to accomplish this year.

They decided to refurbish the large “L” on the hillside overlooking the town of LaCrosse with the addition of a ‘79 to commemorate their graduation year.

Saturday evening, Steve Maki arrived at The Parsonage in his ambulance, with lights flashing, transporting some liquid medical supplies in case the physical activities of the afternoon caused medicinal attention.

Linda Hennigar was visiting her daughter’s family in Kennewick recently. She went after church Easter Sunday and had dinner with Tami, Jay and Wesley Banks. During the several days she stayed, she had lunch one day with cousins Gracia Stueckle and Elaine and Dave Hogan and also visited with Ron and Linda Hiskey. She returned home last Thursday. She attended the funeral services for Al Foss Saturday.

Cindy Pitts was in Boise from Thursday to Tuesday of last week caring for grandkids Kellen, Becket and Willa Hammons while parents Jen and Ryan were in Memphis.

Reuben and Judy Stueckle, Puyallup, were guests of David and Phyllis Stueckle Friday and Saturday. They were here to attend the funeral of Al Foss.

Karen Broeckel attended a barbeque at the home of Greg, Gwen and Jason Nolan in Colfax Saturday. Honored guests were Coleman and Tavia Williams of Lebanon, Maine. Also attending were Mark and Carol Rubin, Jay, Kathy and Bryan Rubin, Cliff and Jeanette Nolan, all of Colfax; Patty and Brett Wieber of Spokane; and Ken, Pam, and Zach Beasley of Waitsburg. The group celebrated Coleman’s birthday.
