Corps issues Snake River lock schedule

The Walla Walla District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is implementing the 2014 seasonal lockage schedule for the passage of recreational craft through the following navigation locks: Lower Granite Dam, Little Goose Dam, Lower Monumental Dam, Ice Harbor Dam, all on the Snake River and McNary Dam on the Columbia River.

Beginning May 15 through Sept. 15, the annual recreational craft lockage schedule is: Upstream, 9 a.m., 12:01 p.m., 3 p.m. 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. for all dams.

Downstream, 9:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

The corps will consider special lockages, outside the scheduled lockage times, for flotillas or other unique requirements sponsored by yacht clubs, marinas and other groups, provided 24-hour advance arrangements have been made with the appropriate operations manager or other appointed representative.

Refer to U.S. Corps of Engineers Safe Lockage Policy for Recreational Craft on the Columbia and Snake rivers for additional safety requirements.
