Dentler resigns Palouse post

Palouse Police Officer Brian Dentler has resigned his 3/4-time position for a new job at WSU. Reserve Officer Terry Snead was set to take his place beginning May 7.

Dentler, a six-year veteran of the Palouse Police Department, has been at 3/4-time since January 2013 after the city council voted to cut his hours for budgetary reasons and questions about whether the town needed a third full-time officer.

“I really appreciate Brian’s work and his support for the city,” said Palouse Mayor Michael Echanove.

The department also covers Garfield in an agreement between the two towns.
