4H club raffle to benefit Oso 4H, FFA families

The C.U. There 4H Club of Colton and Uniontown is conducting a raffle to benefit 4H and FFA families affected by the mudslide in Oso, WA.

Tickets cost $5 each or five tickets for $20. The winners will be drawn at noon on Memorial Day, May 26, in Colton at the park next to the post office. Winners need not be present to win.

Grand prize is an overnight accomodation package at the Coeur d’Alene Resort. Other prizes include an introductory flight over the Palouse from Interstate Aviation, a horse theme home décor package from Jann Dahmen, beef bundle from D&M Stout Ranch, Coleman Powermate 5500 Generator from Nate and Whitney Smith, Village Cinema movie tickets, garden gift basket, farm toys and more.

“In the mudslide there were families involved in 4H and FFA that lost everything,” said Debbie Niehenke, C.U. There 4H Club leader. “And one of the things we try to promote is community service.”

Proceeds from the raffle, which was launched May 2 at the Colton-Uniontown Fair, will go to the Snohomish County 4H Extension office.

To buy tickets, call Niehenke at (509) 229-3703 or send e-mail: tcuthere4h@gmail.com.
