County will study roads for ATVs

Whitman County commissioners still are mulling over which roads could be designated as 35 mph for ATVs.

County Public Works Director Mark Storey told commissioners on Monday morning that he must do a speed study on roads in order to designate a road be posted at 35 mph or less. He said the study probably wouldn’t be complete until this fall.

Storey said he would pursue two roads for the speed study at the request of the town of Palouse, the South River Road and North River Road.
