The Palouse Lions Club may soon be serving beer and wine to members and guests at the hall it rents from the city.
After the Palouse Tavern closed and the Brick Wall Bar and Grill burned down in early April, the local Lions group discussed the lack of a social place open at night.
They decided to apply for a liquor license for the space above the Palouse library, which is owned by the city.
“It’s only speculation at this point,” said club treasurer Loren Estes. “There’s a whole lot of obstacles to clear.”
