Samantha Bafus earns degree

Bob and Leanne Bafus attended the graduation of their daughter, Samantha, from the University of Idaho Saturday. She has a business degree with an emphasis in human resources.

They were joined for a celebration lunch by Jeff and Norman Bafus, and Cindy and Kim Pitts. All helped pack up her belongings and move her to Spokane where she started a job on Monday.

LaCrosse Community Pride will meet today, May 22. Tedd Nealey, board member who is heading the economic development plan, will discuss ways to market the community and attract business. The public is invited to attend.

LaCrosse FFA meats team placed second at the state conventon with Jason Wigen, fifth high individual, Cole Evans sixth, and Jessica Guske tied for tenth. Other team members were Abby McGregor, David Alguea and Graham BeDell.

The marketing team placed third. Team members were BeDell, Miller and Wigen.

Wigen also placed fourth in extemporaneous.

Please take note that the date of Farmers Festival will be June 20 - 22. The dates on the Community Calendar are incorrect.

Effective next Tuesday, May 27, collection time for outgoing mail will change from 5 to 4:30 p.m. This change will affect mail leaving LaCrosse Monday through Friday. This change is for operational reasons to better match dispatch times and transportation times for mail leaving Colfax for processing in Spokane.

The LaCrosse Post Office has recently installed parcel lockers in the customer lobby. This was done to better facilitate the retrieval of packages by customers who work out of town or are unable to get to the post office during open window hours.
