Hunter Weitze shot a 70, two under par, Monday at Liberty Lake's Meadowood Course to win the NE B championship with a score of 142 over the two rounds.
Weitze led a lineup of four Bulldogs who qualified for the state meet next week in Tacoma. Kasey Johnson and Cody Gronning both qualified by finishing on the top nine in the second round, and McKenna Davis finished seventh on the girls side to qualify for the state event as an eighth grader.
Weitze and Palmer Guhlke of Davenport went into the final round Monday as co-leaders with 72 scores in the first round last week. Monday, Guhlke finished four strokes back of Weitze with a 74. That gave him a combo score of 146 for the two days.
Johnson Monday cut seven strokes off his first round score to finish in fifth at 165 (86-79), and Gronning cut 10 strokes off his first week score to finish sixth at 166 (88-78).
Davis placed seventh on the girls side with a 101 Monday (50-51) at Liberty Lake GC. That combined with a 100 last week for a 201 total.
Winner on the girls side was Skyler Kerstein of St. George's, also an eighth grader, with a 86 (43-43) in the Monday round after carding a 98 last week.
She edged Shaylee Felker, ACH sophomore, who led the girls after the first week with a 98, two ahead of Kerstein.
Sophomore Kylie Gronning, who also made the cut last week for Colfax, finished with a 113 (58-55) to mix with a 115 from last week for a 228 total for 13th place.
Eight grader Chance Weitze qualified as a first alternate in 10th place for the boys. He also trimmed 10 strokes Monday for an 84 to mix with the 94 in the first day and close at 178.
Sophomore Cody Muir finish with 106 Monday for a 214 combo score
The three Bulldogs qualifiers on the boys side rolled up enough team points to win the district team award with 72 points. The win by Weitze was worth 30 points.
Davenport placed second with the 25 points garnered by Guhlke for his second place.
