Bailey, Jones, Porubek top SJE class

Samantha Bailey, daughter of JoAnne and the late Irv Bailey, and Emily Jones, daughter of Jeff and Sabrina Jones, have been named co-valedictorians of the St. John-Endicott High School class of 2014. Both earned all-A grade averages. Samantha participated in all of her school’s extracurricular activities and athletic programs. She is interested in studying medicine at the University of Washington this upcoming fall.

Emily Jones was president of the student body and National Honor Society, co-president of Future Business Leaders of America and co-editor of the yearbook and co-captain of the varsity volleyball and basketball teams. She participated in choir, drama, jazz band and Knowledge Bowl. She plans to attend the University of Washington to pursue a degree in communications.

Jade Porubek, daughter of Bruce and Lori Porubek, has been named salutatorian with a grade average of 3.99. Jade served as vice president of the student body, co-president of Future Business Leaders of America and co-editor of the yearbook. Jade also participated in Knowledge Bowl, Science Bowl, drama, cross-country, basketball and track. Next year Jade will attend Western Washington University to major in biology.
