Avista installs L.E.D. lights at Palouse

After two months of pre-installation work, Avista will begin putting up L.E.D. lights in 106 utility-owned streetlights in Palouse as part of a pilot program.

The work is expected to last for six to eight weeks.

Last year, Palouse was chosen as one of six communities to take part in the Transportation Improvement Board (T.I.B.) program, including Benton City, Blaine, Buckley, Coulee Dam, Palouse and Ridgefield.

As a community participant in the study, Palouse city crews will work with Avista in converting existing street and area lighting to the L.E.D. (light emitting diode).
