First Wind awards scholarship

Carmen Swannack, a member of this year's graduating class at St. John High School, has been awarded a $3,000 scholarship from the First Wind Scholars program. She is the daughter of Art and Jill Swannack of Lamont.

The 2014 recipients were selected from a large pool of applicants. The program offers one-time, $3,000 college scholarships to high school seniors in communities where the company has a project. The scholars program was started in 2009 and scholarships have been awarded to 77 students....
