Correction: Tally of 2014 grads topped last year

Because of a Gazette error in logging the number of Colfax High School graduates last year, the total number of Whitman County graduates in 2013 was actually 283, compared to 305 seniors who received diplomas this year.

Colfax High School had 42 graduates in 2013 and awarded diplomas to the same amount of graduates Saturday. The story last week incorrectly reported that the number of Colfax graduates declined from 56 last year.

The mistake reverses the tally line for the county which actually gained in the overall graduate count by 22 students over the previous year....
