Members of the Esther Reed Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution visited Rosalia Saturday, June 7, to observe the 100th anniversary of the dedication at the Rosalia Steptoe Battlefield State Park.
The monument, rising 25 feet in height, and the park were purchased and dedicated by Rosalia citizens and the Esther Reed chapter on June 14, 1914. It is located on the actual battlefield where Col. Steptoe and his troops spent the night of May 17, 1858.
