Longtime teachers, school staff retire

With graduations and the end of the school year last week for most county students, the occasion marked the end of several long careers in education.

The following are a few of them who made the 2013-14 school year their last.

After 39 years as a third-grade teacher in Rosalia, and one as the fifth-grade teacher there, Donna Lazzarini will retire this week.

In her classroom pictures hang on the wall of each year’s group of third graders.

“Kids come in and find their parents’ pictures,” Lazzarini said. “I figure I better retire before they start looking for their grandparents.”...
