Junior rodeo brings record number of wranglers

The 39th annual Colfax Junior Rodeo last weekend at the Palouse Empire fairground hosted 170 contestants, 40 more than the junior rodeo has ever seen, according to Cara Riebold, rodeo secretary. The contestant who came the farthest was from North Pole, Alaska.

Entrants compete in one of five different age divisions for points. In each division, with the exception of the Little People, boys and girls compete separately.
