Ochs art set

for Floriade

The Bank Left Gallery in Palouse will present its eighth annual “Floriade” exhibit, tour and luncheon June 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Featured exhibits this year include Tina Ochs and her “Goddesses of the Palouse” sculptures and paintings of seasons in nature, a tour of the private heirloom garden of the 1886 Wiley House in Palouse and creative floral and garden installations created by the SYG Nursery, Jane Stratton Farms, Barb Shores and Bobby Shores of Moscow-Pullman Building Supplies and artists Valerie Boydo and Laurel McDonald.

Ice Age Floods

set for Kamiak

Dan Leonard will present “The Evidence of Ice Age Floods in Whitman County” Saturday at the Kamiak Butte Evening Campfire Program at 7 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, the program will move into one of the park’s covered shelters. This is a change from the previously scheduled program.

The next program June 28 at Kamiak will be “The Palouse Prairie, Remnants and Recovery” by Bertie Weddell at 7:00 p.m..

Thrifty Grandmothers

Colfax Thrifty Grandmothers have approved $7,500 in scholarships at their previous two meetings. Other donations approved by the club include $500 to the junior rodeo, $500 for the bike rodeo, $500 to FCCLA, $500 to FBLA, $250 for a fuel voucher, $135 to a Girl Scout project, $500 to the Palouse HIV Consortium, and $500 to March for Meals.
