Eric and Shannon Appel and family recently returned home from a long vacation. They drove to Florida to attend Neil and Liz Appel's wedding and then toured part of the United States on their way home. They drove through a total of 20 states and saw many of the National Parks, monuments and historical sites of the country. They also spent time at Disney World and Universal Studios in Florida.

Art and Colene Sager flew to Middleton, Idaho, the weekend of June 21 to attend the Middleton High School class of 1963 reunion. Colene attended all 12 years of grade and high school in Middleton, which was once a small town of 600 just 20 miles west of Boise. In addition to the reunion, they visited Colene’s aunt and her husband, Delila and Herbert Morrison, and Art’s brother and his wife, Floyd and Linda Sager. A trip to the airplane propeller shop at the Boise Airport for a required FAA check was accomplished Monday morning before they flew home.

Wednesday, the Washington Flying Farmers took a trip to Cottonwood, Idaho, to see the St. Gertrude’s Museum. The Sagers flew their Mooney M20C and three other planes arrived at the little Cottonwood Airstrip. Some WFF members drove and picked them up at the airstrip to spend an enjoyable day at the museum. The museum is a one hour drive south of Lewiston. They lunched at the Pub and Grub in Keuterville.

Rafe and Tate Carlson, Spokane, spent the weekend on the farm with their grandparents Kim and Cindy Pitts while their father, Erik Carlson, participated in Spokane’s Hoopfest.

Those from the Dusty area attending the Saturday wedding of Jeff Pauls and Arienne Fechner were Mark and Katherine Vogler, Jeff’s uncle and aunt Ed and Joan Broeckel, Jason Monson, Dale and Vicki Broeckel, Kent and Jessica Monson and Cadence and Garin, and Bud and Judy Aune. The outdoor ceremony was held at Palouse Ridge Golf Club and the reception was at the adjoining Banyon’s Banquet Hall in Pullman. Jeff farms with his parents, Norm and Janice Pauls of Colfax, and Arienne is from Vernon, British Columbia. The couple will reside in Colfax.

Guests of Ed and Joan Broeckel, who arrived Friday to attend the wedding of Jeff Pauls and Arienne Fechner, were their daughters, Amber Broeckel and Dominic Lovotti of Boise, and Jennifer and Anthony Harkishnani of Bellevue and Ed’s sister, Dellene Burdsell of San Jose, CA. Burdsell is staying for a visit. The others returned to their homes Sunday and Monday.

Fran Jones, accompanied by her daughter Gena Jones, granddaughter Meggie Perron and their friend Mario Maero drove to Kelowna, B.C., last Wednesday where they visited with Fran’s brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Annette Nugent. Friday, on their return trip home, they had lunch at the home of Fran’s niece and nephew near Grand Forks, B.C.
