Missouri firm wins county trailer order

Whitman County commissioners Monday approved the lowest bid for an emergency communications trailer.

Four bids were submitted before the deadline Monday morning. They were Midway Trailers from Denton, Mo., for $64,674.51; Walters Group, Inc., Napoleon, Ohio, $72,857.82; Mohawk Ltd., Chadwick, NY, $88,434.80; Farber, Reynoldsburg, Ohio, $92,217.51.

After Emergency Management Director Bill Tensfeld researched each bid and made a recommendation to the board, the commissioners awarded the bid to Midway Trailers.

Mirage Enterprises from Nampa, Idaho, submitted documents but did not bid.

A few weeks ago, only one bid was received for the trailer which was rejected, and the bidding process was started again.
