Honor quilt to Lt. McNaughton

Kenny McNaughton, son of the Rev. Ken and Joy McNaughton of Colfax, received this Quilt of Valor from Whitman Samplers Quilt Guild July 16 at Palouse River Quilts in Colfax. A member of the 2008 class of Colfax High School, Lt. McNaughton returned after serving nine months in Afghanistan with the U.S. Army. He began service in the Army after graduating from Whitworth University at Spokane two years ago. Lt. McNaughton is normally stationed at Ft. Drum, N.Y. Tami Drader, center, made the presentation with Judy Imler at right. Each member of the club made a block for the quilt. After the blocks were assembled, Drader finished the project by adding the quilting.
