Other Whitman County residents who were guests included Bud and Judy Aune, Colfax; John and Kay Krom, Pullman; Durand and Roberta Cox, Hay; Jerry and Penny Gilchrist, Colfax and Kirk and Cindy Wigen, LaCrosse.

The reception was in the backyard of the bridal parents' home.

The newlyweds live in Tacoma where Garrett is a middle school special education teacher in the Tacoma School District and Lexi is a nurse in the pediatric unit of Children’s Hospital in Tacoma.

Friday evening, family celebrated Oscar Broeckel’s 92nd birthday at the home of Brian and Angela Broeckel. Others enjoying the celebration included Graham BeDell, Tom and Doreen Riedner, Tony and Denise Kendall and Karen Broeckel.

Last Tuesday, while harvest operations were shut down due to the previous night’s rain, Doreen Riedner and Denise Kendall took the opportunity to visit former EWU roommate Wendy and Joe Schultz, Davenport, at the Schultz home. On their way back to Dusty, they stopped in to see Uncle Bud Kendall in St. John.

Gary Stueckle’s family stayed at the Parsonage Bed and Breakfast this past weekend, arriving on Friday, staying through Sunday. Those enjoying a family weekend were Gary and Marit Stueckle, their daughter Anna Stueckle, Victor and Leanna Kraakmo, John and Randy Hendrix, Michael Hendrix, Nathaniel Hendrix and Emily Haight, all of Edmonds. Goldie Foss, Colfax, joined them for Saturday morning breakfast. The family toured the Country Bible Church and participated in an impromptu family harmony songfest on Saturday morning at the Selbu Lutheran Church. They also viewed the harvesting on the Gottlieb and Rachel Stueckle family farm.

Vicki Broeckel joined Arlene Gordon and Sharon Schlomer as hostesses for a baby shower for Danielle Dorman Saturday afternoon at Selbu Lutheran Church. Ryan and Danielle Dorman are expecting a baby boy this fall.

A group of approximately 50 people gathered on the front lawn of Loren Scaggs in Dusty Sunday for the annual Country Bible Church picnic. Several guests joined the church family for the event.

Harvest is in full swing in the area, with many just starting this week and others completing the operation. Dusty Country Store is able to provide lunches for some crews.

Kim and Cindy Pitts and Norm Bafus were in Spokane Sunday at the home of Amanda and Erik Carlson to celebrate grandson/great-grandson Tate’s fifth birthday. Tate’s brother Rafe was also at the party.
