Memory blooms in Farmington

A memory rose garden project in Farmington is nearly complete with two planting areas along the town’s new basketball court.

The idea came about last summer while volunteers worked on rebuilding the court.

The installation of concrete retaining walls led to many volunteers asking project coordinator Noreen Ewing what was going to be planted in them.

“It took off better than we expected,” Ewing said. “It was what the community wanted so that’s what we did.”
