Kim and Cindy Pitts spent from Sept. 26 to Oct. 4 in Boise with their daughter’s family, Jen and Ryan Hammons and Kellen, Becket and Willa. While there, they watched all three grandchildren play in their respective soccer games. To celebrate Cindy’s birthday, Kim gifted her with a day at Horseshoe Bend going through six zip line runs. That’s one checked off her bucket list.
Saturday afternoon, a baby shower was held for Katy Heaton at the home of Jami Imler in Colfax for approximately 40 guests. Hostesses were Jill Pierson, Lisa Beckley, Angela Cronk, Karie Pierson and Jami Imler. Attending from the Dusty area were grandma-to-be Carmen Heaton, Jennifer Morris, Suzy McNeilly and Karen Broeckel. Katy and Justin are expecting twins, a boy and a girl, in less than two months.
Eleven guys attended the men’s breakfast, prepared by Vicki Broeckel, at the Parsonage Bed and Breakfast Saturday morning. Steve Szasz, Pastor of Country Bible Church, organized the event and encourages others to attend when they schedule one in the future.
The Horsemanship 4H club, under the leadership of Amy McKay, practiced at Alkali Flat Arena Sunday afternoon.
Linda Hennigar attended the wedding of Toni Hennigar and Brandon Jorgensen Saturday at the Palouse Empire Fairground. The ceremony took place in the gazebo built several years ago by Toni’s father, Tom Hennigar. The reception was also at the fairground.
Saturday, Larry and Di Brink went to Colton to help their granddaughter, Myla, celebrate her first birthday. Also present were Myla’s parents, John and Brandi Brink, Uncle Mike Stine of LaCrosse, Kevin, Amber, Ashley, Kloey, Ellie and Nick Brink of the Tri-Cities, maternal grandparents Ed and Brenda Getz and Uncle Austin of Colfax, maternal great-grandparents Ken and Kathy McGreevy, Kate and Dani Getz, Anna Herandez, Deedee and Terren Torgeson, all of Colfax, Erin, Leo and Phinley Seaburg of Twisp, Stacy Hopkins of Spokane, Kirby and Caleb Getz of Pullman and Adam Enzweiler and his daughter Emma and Ashley Goolsby, all of LaCrosse.
Capt. Jim Appel, Fort Lewis-McCord Base, spent several days helping out last week at the home of his grandparents, Dick and Helen Appel, while Dick recuperated from his rotator cuff surgery.
