Serving Whitman County since 1877
The second annual fall carnival organized by the Healthy Tekoa Coalition will be Oct. 18 at the Tekoa Grade School gym from 2 to 4 p.m. Admission is free, but youngsters must be accompanied by an adult.
More than 15 tables will be in the gym with games and activities such as Plinko, face painting, cupcake walk, eye toss, knock the pyramid of cans, coloring contest, bobbing for apples, guess how many in a jar and a Diva center.
Prizes and goodies are given out at each table. This year there will also be a bouncy obstacle course. Tickets to play on the course will be given at the door.
The coalition organizes the carnival as part of its ongoing goal to increase opportunities for families to do positive, fun things together. A Parent Talk Kit booklet will be given to each adult. It contains tips for talking to kids and what to say to prevent drug and alcohol use.
Free Family Night activities are offered once a month or more in Tekoa. Next month will be Free Family Football on the big screen at the Empire Theatre.
