Pomeroy 64
L-W-K 0
Pomeroy came to LaCrosse for the Tigercats’ Homecoming game and the night ended with flowers in the dirt.
Losing 64-0 in their fifth shutout loss in a row, L-W-K dropped to 0-7 on the season.
Pomeroy scored first in the game on a recovered fumble after a snap went over the head of L-W-K punter Chance Rice.
From there, Pomeroy runners Cade Gingerich, Oscar Morfin, Havin Heytvelt and Devon Caruso escaped for several touchdown runs, building a 52-0 lead at halftime, when Tigercat royalty was crowned.
L-W-K and their 11 active players had to fill some new roles in the game.
Long-snapper Tom VanCamp had only practiced the position for a day, after backup Jacob Johnson went down to injury, following the injury of original long-snapper Jason Wigen.
Van Camp usually plays fullback.
Elsewhere, the Tigercats had a 113-pound running back playing tight end and a tight end at guard. Another L-W-L running back played at the other guard position.
"It was a tough night," said coach Justin Ziebel. "A lot of blown assignments and mental mistakes, which can happen after you’ve played a position for just a week of practice, or less."
L-W-K will play next at Sunnyside Christian Friday at 7 p.m.

The Eagles rushed for more than 600 yards in a definitive win at Dayton last Friday.
With the front line opening holes, running back Wilson Lundberg scored four touchdowns while Jimmy Hollingshead had three.
"Our offensive line was just incredible. So was the defense," said Eagles’ assistant coach Ken Gering, who stepped in for absent head coach Steve Selk.
