Blood trail leads to crime scene

A Pullman police report filed Friday following the arrest of a 19-year-old California man said the scene of the alleged crime was located by following a trail of blood left by the suspect. The report said police were called at about 1 a.m. with a report of a man who had sustained a laceration wound. The suspect was located at a residence in the 400 Block of NE. Morton where friends were applying direct pressure to a severe laceration on his right leg. The suspect was identified as Giancarlo Spinosi of Coto de Caza, Calif.

The arrest report said the suspect was unresponsive as to the reason for his injury, and the arresting officer followed a trail of blood to the downtown area of Pullman and discovered a suspected crime scene at Keasal’s Chevron Station.

The report said a window at the station had been broken out, and a piece of firewood, which was removed from a stack, had apparently been thrown through the window.

It also said a surveillance camera at the station had apparently been pulled down from its mount on the building.

The report said officers were able to view video inside the camera and a man resembling Spinosi was seen around the building.

Late footage showed video scenes which indicated the camera was being pulled down with pictures of a brand of shoes which matched what the suspect was wearing.

Spinosi, who was booked into jail early Friday afternoon, appeared in court in a wheel chair. He told the judge he had come to Pullman to see Saturday’s football game. He was allowed release on his own recognizance pending filing of formal charges.
