Truckers pay tribute

A line of trucks made a loop of the Palouse Empire Fairground Monday afternoon to pay tribute to Vernon D. Henning, 80, retired Colfax area farmer and trucker who died Oct. 28 in Spokane. The funeral for Mr. Henning was Monday afternoon at the Palouse Empire Fair’s Community Building.

Mr. Henning, during his life, enjoyed driving, as well as collecting and trading trucks and tractors. A Henning Trucking rig, with a mounted U.S. Flag, headed Monday’s convoy.

The line of trucks formed up at the Colfax Airport and departed for the fairground after the conclusion of services. A total of 27 trucks...
