Oakesdale Nighthawk volleyball team has won the state 1B academic championship. The Nighthawks won the high honor the past two years while in their previous Tekoa/Oakesdale combo, but in this the first year of Oakesdale, they won the award as a one-school team. The team's grade average is 3.899. The team is comprised of eight players who have finished second in the SE league run.
