The population of Hay grew by two last Thursday, Nov 6. Justin and Katy Heaton are the proud parents of Tru Nicole and Range Richard, born at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane. Tru weighed five pounds, six ounces, and Range, four pounds, four ounces. Paternal grandparents are Blake and Carmen Heaton, Dusty, and maternal grandparents are Dave and Kathy Tellessen, Otis Orchards. Both children are in the NICU where they are getting a little extra help.

Connie and Greg Young welcomed a new granddaughter Nov 3. Camille Rae arrived at seven pounds, 15 ounces to their daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Ben Cox of Richland. Camille joins a sister, 19-month-old Clare, who gives her baby sister lots of hugs and tries to share her teddy bear.

Saturday, Larry and Di Brink took her brother Mike Stine to Lilac Lanes in Spokane so he could participate in a Special Olympics Bowling Tournament. Mike earned a gold medal at the event. They met their cousin, Camille Patterson, for lunch and she joined them in cheering on Mike at the tournament.

Angela Broeckel’s long time friend, Sally Wadekamper of Lonsdale, Minn., has been visiting the Broeckels this week. Angela picked her up at the airport Saturday and Wadekamper flew back to her home Tuesday.

Saturday, Ed and Joan Broeckel met their daughter, Amber, at McCall, Idaho, and spent the evening with her to celebrate Amber’s birthday, which is during this week.

Linda Hennigar attended the wedding of her niece Charity Hennigar, daughter of Jerry and Susie Hennigar, to Sean Wesselman at Fairview Campus of the Catalyst Church in Colfax Saturday, Nov. 1. The reception was at the Palouse Empire Fairgrounds.

Linda Hennigar was among approximately 16 guests attending a baby shower for Bethany Siebert and baby Anna this past Saturday at the Route 26 Café in LaCrosse. Special guests were Siebert’s mother, Linda Greenhalgh of Endicott and her sister and nephew, Sheena Becker and son of Endicott.

Sunday, Selbu Lutheran Church held their annual potluck and bazaar to raise money for missions. Durand Cox and Kirk Wigen were auctioneers.

Sunday, a group of 10 worshipers from the Country Bible Church went to the Snake River Bar and Grill at Boyer Park for dinner after services. Among the group were David and Phyllis Stueckle, Art and Colene Sager, Randy and Kristin Repp, Pastor Steve and Darla Szasz and Frank and Jowana Gibson.

Monday, Pastor Steve Szasz and David Stueckle attended the Veteran’s Day celebration and lunch at the LaCrosse School.

Taste ‘n’ Tear 4H held their first meeting of the year at the home of their leader, Helen Appel. A delicious luncheon was prepared: cabbage soup, stromboli, Lisa’s romaine and cheese salad, dill dip and vegetables and foldover cookies. Next meeting they will make Christmas goodies.

On a very windy and stormy night, Kevin Doty, Mockonema, became lost in the Blue Mountains.

His hunting party realized something had to be done, so Stetson Steiger and Garret Link volunteered to go look for him. Stetson had a GPS, and they knew roughly where Kevin said he was going to hunt.

Armed with flashlights and the GPS unit, they were able to find him in about an hour.
