Six tax foreclosures up for public auction

Tax foreclosure judgments on six properties in Whitman County were issued last week against registered owners of the properties who were found in default for not responding to the filings. The six properties have been scheduled for public auction Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. in the commissioners’ office at the courthouse.

Total amount of taxes due, plus fines and fees, is $15,933. A complaint for foreclosure was filed Sept. 11 and summons of the registered property owners was done by publication.

The minimum bid sought on the properties is the amount due. Included in the foreclosures are a house in the S. 600 block of Crosby Street in Tekoa and a house on W. Spokane Street in Garfield. Amount due on the Tekoa house is $5,468, and the amount due on the Garfield house is $4,625. Also in the list is a mobile home in the 600 block of NW Fisk Street in Pullman with $1,313 due. Two parcels of multi lots in Malden and one in Lamont are also included. The county begins foreclosure action against properties after taxes remain unpaid beyond three years.
